St. Louis Gateway

Attendees certainly enjoyed the tour and lunch that Jay Schuessler set up for us at the Charles King Mid-Century Modern Architecture Museum in Belleville, Illinois.  Curator, Margaret Meyer, provided us with an enjoyable history of the home and Charles King’s career.  And Jay shared with us his near 40-year history as a Mercedes-Benz sales associate and the fact that Mr. King was his Godfather.

A check in the amount of $250, made out to the Belleville Historical Society, was presented to the Curators.  After lunch, Jay surprised Rick with presenting him with a beautifully framed poster of his 190SL and fellow SLGS member, Ed Knoll’s, 300SL, from Mercedes Freude 2021.
